Steve Cook
Head of Portfolio Management
Steve Cook is a Director and the Head of Portfolio Management at SIMCo. He also has primary responsibility for the structuring of SIMCo’s investment funds. He has 17 years of infrastructure debt experience.
Prior to SIMCo, Mr Cook was the European Head of Whole Business Securitization and Co-Head of Infrastructure Finance with UBS, and he was formerly the Head of European Corporate Securitization with Morgan Stanley & Co. with lending and balance sheet responsibility. He has extensive experience in origination, structuring and execution of all types of infrastructure, commercial property, asset-backed and whole business transactions in the bank and bond markets. Mr Cook has a strong background with advising issuers on raising funding, restructurings and workouts.
During his career, Mr Cook has worked with a wide range of institutions including:
- Infrastructure and utility companies: Network Rail, Transport for London, Trillium, the UK Government, London City Airport, Macquarie, Thames Water, Wessex Water, Exxon and National Grid plc.
- Leisure companies: Punch Taverns plc, Enterprise Inns plc, Avebury Taverns, Innspired Group, the Wellington Pub Company and Odeon Cinemas.
- Leading property companies: Canary Wharf Group, Songbird plc, British Land plc, Land Securities plc and Propinvest.
- Healthcare businesses: General Healthcare Group, Principal Healthcare Group, Four Seasons Nursing Homes and Hirslanden.
- Private equity funds: BC Partners, Alchemy, Cinven, CVC, Texas Pacific Group, Charterhouse, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund (MSREF) and various Macquarie funds.
Mr Cook holds an MA in Mathematics from Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He is a member of SIMCo’s Investment Committee.

Dolf Kohnhorst
Head of Infrastructure
Dolf Kohnhorst is a Director and Head of Infrastructure at SIMCo. He has primary responsibility for originating new infrastructure debt opportunities. He has 34 years of experience in investment banking, debt capital markets and lending in the shipping, construction and project finance sectors.
Most recently, Mr Kohnhorst was with Societe Generale, where he was responsible for the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group covering UK, Irish, BeNeLux and Scandinavian banks, insurance companies and investment management companies. In this role he worked on specific risk transfer transactions in the infrastructure debt markets. He spent 16 years at Morgan Stanley & Co. in London as a fixed income salesman heading up the BeNeLux and Scandinavian sales teams and in the Debt Capital Markets Financial Institutions Structured Solutions Group. Mr Kohnhorst is also the former Head of Structured Solutions in the Financial Institutions Investment Banking group at Nomura International. His focus in both these roles included the transfer of loan assets (infrastructure, real estate, trade and leveraged finance) into the capital markets. Mr Kohnhorst started his career as a project finance and shipping banker at Continental Illinois.
Mr Kohnhorst holds an MA in French Literature from Pembroke College, University of Oxford. He is a member of SIMCo’s Investment Committee.

Randall Sandstrom
CEO / CIO
Randall Sandstrom is the Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of SIMCo. He has 25 years of experience in the capital markets and a broad range of expertise in the international and domestic credit markets and infrastructure debt markets.
Mr Sandstrom was on the Board of Directors of LCF Rothschild and the Managing Director of Structured Finance. He was head of euro credit market strategy for Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr Sandstrom began his career as a hard asset industrial credit analyst out of business school with CS First Boston covering transportation and energy and made “Institutional Investors” All-American Research Team in his second full year. He has worked in London, New York and Tokyo.
Mr Sandstrom holds an MBA in Finance & Investments from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr Sandstrom is a former member of the US Army 20th Special Forces Group (Green Berets), where he was on an operational reserve detachment for three years. He graduated runner-up in Special Forces pre-phase training and on the Commandant’s List in the Special Forces Qualification Course. He is US Army Ranger and Airborne qualified. He is a member of SIMCo’s Investment Committee.
The Team

Anurag Gupta
Chief Risk Officer
Anurag Gupta is Chief Risk Officer at SIMCo. He chairs SIMCo’s Investment Committee and has primary responsibility for risk management and compliance across SIMCo’s various funds. He additionally oversees finance, administration and operations. Mr Gupta currently serves on the Board of Transport for London (TfL) and the Board of the Staff College. He has over 20 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investment and appraisal, risk management, M&A, and financial advisory.
Prior to assuming his role at SIMCo, Mr Gupta was with KPMG where he was an Infrastructure Advisory Partner and the Global Sector Head of Power. Over his career he has accrued extensive transactional experience across infrastructure sectors such as transport, power & utilities, renewables, TMT and social infrastructure (PPPs) amongst others.
Mr Gupta holds an MBA from Tulane University, USA, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Engineering Council, UK, and a BSc from Calcutta University, India.

Matt Dimond
Managing Director - Client Capital
Matt Dimond is Head of Client Capital at SIMCo, joining the team in 2022. He has primary responsibility for working with both existing and new investors in the firm’s products and for evaluating and proposing new strategies for clients.
Over the last decade, Mr Dimond has focused on product development and capital-raising in the two key areas of real asset investments – infrastructure and real estate, and has previously worked in senior roles at InfraRed Capital Partners and Swiss Life. He has led product launches and international client-facing activities for both private and public markets structures, such as the TRIG listed renewable energy fund and new private vehicles for Swiss Life’s Pan-European real estate range. Earlier in his career, Mr Dimond worked across Europe and Asia in investment banking roles at UBS Warburg and Macquarie, based in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo, during which time he advised clients on international M&A and equity capital-raising, and he also spent eight years in M&A and principal investments with GE Capital.
Mr Dimond graduated with an MA in Classics from University College at Oxford, and with an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Georgi Teofilov
Managing Director and Head of Credit
Georgi joined SIMCo in 2015. Prior to that he gathered investment experience at an AIM-listed private equity fund and developed his advisory skills at KPMG. At SIMCo he has analysed and executed investments in power, utilities, renewables, waste to energy, sub-sea communications and shipping. Georgi holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, a postgraduate diploma in Infrastructure Investment and Finance from University College London and passed all three levels of the CFA Program in 2005.

Tim Prussing
Executive Director
Tim joined SIMCo in 2021. He has over 11 years’ experience advising on and lending to infrastructure investments, with a particular focus on power, utilities, and renewables. Most recently prior to SIMCo, Tim worked as a Project Finance lender at MUFG. Prior, he worked in KPMG’s Infrastructure Advisory team, as well as an advisor to the UK Government on business models for emerging energy technologies. Tim is a CFA Charterholder, and holds a MCom in Financial Management, a BCom (Honours) in Economics and a BCom in Economics and Finance, all from the University of Cape Town.

Rahul Narang
Executive Director
Rahul joined SIMCo in October 2020. He has been advising on Infrastructure financings since 2012, following completion of his ACA qualification from ICAEW. He has diverse experience across Renewables, Transport and Core+ Infrastructure assets in UK and Europe. He has structured and executed debt transactions in project and corporate finance and supported clients in several buy-side transactions with value in excess of £1bn. Prior to SIMCo, Rahul worked in KPMG’s Infrastructure Advisory team and at debt capital markets specialists, Centrus Financial Advisors.

Juan Santamaria
Vice President
Juan joined SIMCo as a full-time employee in November 2021, after joining as an MBA intern in July 2021. Prior to this, he worked at Credicorp Capital for nearly 8 years in Colombia and Peru, most recently in the Structured Loans team. In that role, he structured and analysed more than thirty syndicated and bilateral loans worth over US$ 3.0bn of debt for companies in multiple economic sectors. He led fifteen of these projects, including a US$ 350m project finance for a toll road concession in Peru. Juan is an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad de Los Andes (2013) and holds an MBA from the London Business School.

Daniel Hoodeh
Head of Fund Operations
Daniel joined SIMCo in June 2021. Prior to this, he worked at Northern Trust Corporation as Assistant Vice President in their Derivatives team. Daniel provided oversight to Operational teams in Bangalore, Chicago and London. His area of expertise was Collateral Management, covering exposures for Cleared Swaps, FX Forwards and Longevity Swaps for reinsurance deals. Daniel holds an MSc in International Business as well as BA (Hons) in Law and Business from the University of Liverpool.

Keeler Mears
Senior Associate
Keeler joined SIMCo in July 2019 as an Intern Analyst before joining as a full-time Analyst in September 2019. Keeler is involved in the origination and execution of new investments, as well as the management of portfolio assets. Prior to joining the firm, Keeler was a Credit Analyst at Walker and Dunlop in Boston, Massachusetts, where he performed asset management duties for institutional portfolios of commercial real estate debt investments. Prior to Walker and Dunlop, Keeler was an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at RBC Capital Markets in London, where he worked on the real estate financing team.
Keeler holds a Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science in Climate Change, Management and Finance from Imperial College London.

Leah Dean
Senior Associate, ESG and Sustainability Manager
Leah joined SIMCo in February 2023. Prior to this, Leah worked at AKO Capital, one of Europe’s leading hedge funds. She began as a Language and Behaviour Analyst before transitioning into her role as an ESG Analyst, with wide-ranging responsibilities from integrating ESG into the investment process to client reporting to company engagement. She holds a first-class honours degree in Linguistics from the University of Cambridge and is a certified ICAEW Business and Finance Professional.

Thomas Theis
Associate
Thomas joined SIMCo in June 2021 as an Intern. Prior to joining the firm, Thomas completed a MSc in Financial Mathematics at the London School of Economics. In addition, Thomas holds a first-class honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen. During his undergraduate studies, he focused on Applied Mathematics and Computing Science.

Johannce Fernandes
Senior Analyst
Johannce joined SIMCo within the Client Capital team in September 2024. Johannce will focus on raising new capital for SIMCo’s products as well as servicing existing investor needs. Prior to joining SIMCo, Johannce worked at Hines (Real Estate Investment Manager) where he supported the fundraising efforts for the firm’s European core and core plus funds. Johannce holds a BSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Amelia Schmid
Analyst
Amelia joined SIMCo during the summer of 2022 as an intern and, following graduation, joined SIMCo as an Analyst in September 2023. Amelia graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking and Finance from the University of Leeds.

Robert Cook
Analyst fund operations and portfolio management
Robert joined SIMCo as an intern in May 2024 and upon completion was offered a full-time position as an analyst in the fund operations and portfolio management department starting July 2024.
Robert holds a BA from Coventry University London and is currently completing an Msc degree from the University of Bath.

Sophie Haissaguerre
Analyst
Sophie joined SIMCo as an Analyst in September 2024. Prior to this, Sophie worked at the client coverage division DWS, the asset management arm of Deutsche Bank, where she focussed on institutional and private banking sales. She then worked at Legal & General, focussing on private credit investments and portfolio management.
Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science in International Management from Imperial College London.

Jack Nicholls
Analyst
Jack joined SIMCo in September 2024 as an Analyst. Prior to SIMCo, Jack completed a year-long placement as an Infrastructure Finance Intern at AXA Investment Managers, where he supported the team in investment analysis and transaction execution. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics with Placement from the University of Bath.

Daniel Weon
Analyst
Daniel joined SIMCo in September 2024 as an Analyst. Prior to SIMCo he was an intern with the investment team at Aurelius Investments where he supported the team on due diligence and transaction execution. Daniel graduated in 2022 with a Master of Science in Finance from the University College London.

Sonia John-Lewis
Office Manager
Sonia joined SIMCo in September 2017. Ms John-Lewis previously worked at Praesta Partners (Executive Coaching Company) headed up by four partners. Her duties involved running a smooth office and shadowing the partners at client meetings. Ms John-Lewis has over 10 years in Office Management working for different organizations, including Rt. Hon. Diane Abbott (MP).
